The Mission of the Transylvania County Historical Society is to preserve the cultural and architectural history of Transylvania County. It owns the Allison-Deaver House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the McGaha Chapel. The non-profit Society depends upon membership fees, special events, donations, private foundation grants, federal grants and Transylvania County funds to maintain the Allison-Deaver House and the McGaha Chapel.
